Preface
The difficnlty experienced by a large body of law students in obtaining access to the United States Supreme Court Reports has led to the preparation of this volume. Tlie cases have been selected by the author to be studied in connection with his lectures, at the University of Minnesota, on American constitutional law. With one exception they have been taken from the United States Supreme Court Reports. For the convenience of students, the Constitution of the United States has been inserted. It is not claimed that the whole field of American constitutional law has been covered in this compilation. The design has been to present those cases only which best illustrate the more important principles, leaving to the instructor to add to the list such cases as he may think best.
