Preface

The delightful story of Pinocchio was written by an Italian named Signor Lorenzini about fifty years ago. Al¬ though it closely resembles a folk tale, it is a true fairy story.

Lorenzini wrote several other stories for children; but for a long time he was unknown to his readers because he wrote under the assumed name of C. Collodi, which was the name of his native town.

Sidney G. Firman.
